Owners of  Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, luxury train and travel adventure company ‘Belmond’ offer an experience that harps back to an age when rail travel was at its most luxurious and glamorous.

One of Belmond’s key routes on board the Belmond Northern Belle is from the North of England to Royal Ascot in Buckinghamshire; this ultra stylish train journey presented an obvious opportunity for collaboration with Vivien Sheriff.

On Royal Ascot Ladies’ Day, a selection of Vivien Sheriff hats made the journey to the Royal Meeting on board the Belmond Northern Belle. Following a delightful Champagne brunch, the travelling guests had the chance to win one of the latest millinery creations from the Vivien Sheriff ready-to-wear collection, which added to the excitement and jubilant atmosphere in the 1930s inspired carriages.

To signify and promote the collaboration, we organised a shoot onboard the train itself.

The Belmond British Pullman was safely parked at Battersea depot when it played host to our AW16 photographic shoot.  The images nonetheless achieved the desired goal of capturing the classic, timeless glamour of 1920’s travel chic, that the Belmond brand embodies.

Vivien along with journalists from Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and Cheshire Life, who were covering the collaboration, travelled on board the Belmond Northern Belle to Royal Ascot on Ladies Day.
